My Story
In April 2011 my life seemed to be missing something. I had graduated a year before with my second degree in Education. I was teaching but found that since I was no longer both teaching and going to school that I really needed something to do. I really just wanted a hobby; if I made some money on the side that would help too. I was entering student loan repayment and could use some extra money. I also have a life- long blood disorder that could and has had traumatic effects on my health, this often has caused some pretty high medical costs and if there was a way I could alleviate that, and have some fun, I was all for it!!
I met my sponsor and she began talking to me about Scentsy Family. After giving it some thought and praying about it I decided to sign up. The day after I signed up we had a meeting at work, where I was told the department I worked in was being eliminated due to budget cuts. In about 60 days I would no longer have my teaching job. I was in complete shock and disbelief the rest of the day. That evening I came home to find my Scentsy start up kit on my porch. I was so incredibly upset by the news of loosing my job but as I opened the box I was overcome by a sense of comfort and security. God’s timing couldn’t have been more perfect!
Fast forward to 2015, I have been working for several years building a business and I decided to leave my career in teaching. I always hoped, prayed and worked diligently to get us to this point and now that it is here I am overwhelmed with gratitude for everyone that has contributed to getting our family where we are today. I have found such immense joy in what I am now doing. I take great pride in building up women (and men) helping them create a business for their families. I love being able to watch ordinary people do extraordinary things that they never dreamed they could do. They matter and they are worth every ounce of joy Scentsy is bringing to their lives.
My husband, Joe still works his day job. But I am overjoyed to say that we work this business together as partners. It truly is a family business that we both love. Being able to be home with this business has allowed me the freedom to be home with our two children and focus on my medical treatments to which I am beyond thankful for.
Here are some more highlights we have experienced since that April day in 2011…..
Met some really amazing people all over the country and gained lifelong friends.
We have created a livable income through Scentsy. This has allowed me to leave teaching after 14 years to be a full time stay at home mom and Scentsy Star Director!!
We currently have a team well over 100 amazing men and women all over the country. We get to mentor them and watch them build businesses for their family. We also get to watch these same team members do many of the things I am saying in this story that we are doing. It’s not just us, they’re doing these awesome things too.
We get to watch lives filled with some of the most sad, tragic and heart wrenching stories transform. One of our greatest joys is helping others find hope, value, and self worth when they thought their life couldn’t get any better. We truly are a family.
We have been able to greatly reduce and even completely pay off some debt!! This is something we are still working towards, someday we will be debt free thanks to Scentsy!
We have built professional and leadership skills
We have earned all expense paid vacations to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, Cozumel Mexico, Disney World, Nashville, Italy, Spain, France, and been able to travel to all kinds of other awesome places.
We are truly honored to be a part of a thriving company with a great heart that truly gives back more than it takes!!
